Green East Pylon Proposals

Start of surveys

We promised to keep you updated on work to develop this network reinforcement in East Anglia.

Following the recent public consultation, we are reviewing all the feedback received and carefully considering peoples’ comments as we take the project forward.

To understand more about the environment, we need to carry out walkover surveys. The surveys will be carried out on land within the corridor, some adjoining land, and areas that have been identified through consultation feedback at potentially sensitive. The surveys will help us to assess the landscape, ecology and cultural heritage aspects of the area, to inform further detailed environmental assessments.

Fisher German is working on behalf of National Grid to contact landowners and to arrange access for surveys. We have explained to landowners that giving permission to carry out these surveys does not affect their right to make representations about our project.

Further information about the surveys can be found on the news area of our website, along with Information for landowners. As we develop the project in more detail, we will carry out further surveys and we will keep our website updated with more information.

Findings from the surveys will be published either as part of our Preliminary Environmental Information at our next stage of consultation, or to support our application for a DCO.

If you would like any further information on the surveys, please get in touch. We will be in touch again shortly with a short project newsletter to follow up our recent consultation in more detail.
